new title not so gloomy...jacob improving and at home...

Hello to all my beautiful and loyal readers...
Yesterday was a very stressful day for our family...many of you are aware that i have a little boy, Jacob, who has a life threatening condition...
His official medical title is...acute, life threatening spasmodic croup..
croup like you have never seen before...his airways close over within seconds..
i carry with me a huge granny shopping trolley bag that holds oxygen, adrenolin, epipens and steroids...everywhere we go!!!
he hasn't had an episode for 18 months and we thought he had grown out of it...
but, alas he hasn't, and he had the worst episode of his life yesterday..
i truly felt he was going to die...i guess that's why its called life threatening...
I am quite a mess at the moment just thinking if i hadn't have been physcic and given him life saving meds what would have happened...it took him a long time to respond to the adrenolin...very terrified...the sad thing is, he was terrified too...
it is for this reason that i am having a little time off..i just can't cope at the moment ...
I will miss you all...and maybe really bad days i will drop in for a visit...we all need a bit of sanity...as a mummy with a sick little kidlet this is what i must do...
the good news is he is home from hospital, and going well considering...
thanks for all your lovely support...
take care of you ...and your precious families...
until next time
lots of it
Mandy

Mandy, I am so so sorry. I can only imagine how terrifying this must be for you-all. I will be praying for your little man and wisdom and peace for you-all as well.

Please take all the time you need and don't worry about us. We will all still be here. Don't worry about getting behind in The Artistic Mother's Group. It is a go-at-your-own pace thing anyway. You can jump back in whenever it fits your life. I understand that right now you just need to take care of your family.

Love and hugs,

Trudy

Oh Mandy, so sorry to hear that you had to go through this with your little guy. I can only imagine how awful it is for all of you. You are a warrior Mama, there and fighting for your son. I am praying for strength and peace for you and wisdom for the doctors. Glad you are taking some time to wrap your arms around your boy and your family. we will all be here when you get back online.

Wow, that is really scary. Just spent a few hours last night with a croup-y girl, but it thankfully wasn't so serious! My thoughts and prayers are with you!

Oh, Mandy!!! I read a bit about your son in a comment you made on another blog, and I have to say I am SO SORRY that you and your baby have to deal with that at all.

There is NOTHING scarier than that hopeless feeling - thank goodness you had the awareness to give him meds. when you did!

I have had a couple of scares like that with Kendra - she is highly allergic to some things and it only takes one scare to forever make you cautious. The breathing thing is the worst.

Take care of yourself and that beautiful son of yours - he is such a lucky little man and you are such a wonderful mama!

We'll be here, Kristin xoxoxoxox
